Lauke Jharna
Lauke Jharna is one of the most visited waterfalls near Kathmandu, and for good reason. Hidden in the hills above Thanapati, it is actually two separate waterfalls — Thulo Chahare and Sano Chahare — connected by a short forest trail that takes less than 30 minutes to complete. Thulo Chahare — The Main Waterfall Thulo Chahare is the bigger of the two and the one most people come for. The waterfall is tall and powerful, especially during the monsoon season between June and September when it runs at full force. Before you reach the falls, the trail opens up to a natural swimming pool — cold, clear, and free to use. A short two-minute climb above the pool brings you to the best viewpoint, with a wooden bridge that frames the waterfall perfectly behind you. Sano Chahare — The Hidden One From the signboard at the trail junction, a 10 to 15 minute uphill walk leads to Sano Chahare. It is smaller and quieter than the first, but worth the extra steps. There is a large flat rock at the viewing point that has become a popular spot for photos. How to Get Here from Farm & Forest? Farm & Forest Resort - Thanapati - Take uphill road from the left side
